Forsgren History
Forsgren Associates began as Clayter F. Forsgren, Consulting Engineer, in Rexburg, Idaho in 1962.
Clayter F. Forsgren, founder
Our company offered general civil engineering and surveying services and quickly found a strong client base in the small to mid-size communities of eastern Idaho. As these communities grew, our company grew to meet their needs, including developing design expertise for water systems, wastewater systems, irrigation systems, storm drainage, roadways, structures (buildings, tanks, and bridges), airports, and solid waste facilities. From that foundation, we expanded our client base to include other local government entities, state agencies, federal agencies, and private utilities, industries, and developers.
Over the years, the company name evolved as we grew (Forsgren and Associates, Consulting Engineers; Forsgren, Perkins and Associates; Forsgren Associates, PA). In 1994, the company registered as a corporation in the State of Idaho as Forsgren Associates, Inc. Clayter maintained a leadership position in Forsgren Associates until his retirement in 1996. From inception, the company has been 100% employee owned.
The company began expanding geographically during the 1980’s including adding offices in Boise, ID; Salt Lake City, UT; Evanston, WY; Wenatchee, WA; and West Yellowstone, MT. In 2000, Forsgren added environmental engineering to our capabilities with the opening of our Sacramento office. In 2011 we opened our Denver, CO office, followed by acquiring our Logan, UT office in 2012.
