- Prepare planning and design documents for various hydraulic projects
- Develop H&H models based on available information and engineering judgement

Position Overview:
Building on our 60-year legacy and established presence throughout the western US, Forsgren Associates is experiencing steady growth. We are looking for an experienced and versatile civil engineer to help lead planning and design for water and wastewater treatment systems.
You’ll initially tackle projects we have in hand, working with our team to see them through to completion. You’ll work with our team to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones. You’ll support business development efforts, and in time, lead those efforts. You’ll become an integral part of a tight-knit team, help to grow that team, and in time, lead that team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking an active role in business development and client care as we work together to continue to grow our Salt Lake City-based practice. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated self-starter looking to grow personally and professionally in the engineering industry.
We’re looking for someone who can step in and seamlessly work with our existing team to:
- Provide technical leadership to evaluate and design water and wastewater treatment systems, and to generate and review construction documents, master plan reports, and water-related technical studies for municipal and public works infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies for permitting and compliance.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Support clients with services during bidding, contracting, and construction.
- Perform and/or lead construction observation and management.
- Communicate effectively with client, project team, and subconsultants to deliver successful projects.
- Strengthen existing client relationships with technical and business solutions that integrate innovative approaches, value, and risk
- Support business development by working with team to meet with clients, identify and evaluate opportunities, and prepare proposals. Grow into integral part of business development program.
- Support, and eventually lead development and implementation of business plans to help achieve office and corporate growth.
- Provide technical guidance and quality control, ensure sound engineering practices, ensure proper allocation of manpower and timely performance on regional projects.

Building Inspector – Salt Lake City, UT
Position Overview:
Building on our 60-year legacy and established presence throughout the western US, Forsgren Associates is experiencing steady growth. We provide inspection services to a broad range of local clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining our team and building their career in the field of inspection services.
We’re looking for a person with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex inspections in the field, in order to verify conformance to construction plans, codes, and specifications.
Applicant must also have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be willing to travel throughout the Wasatch Front.
Typical responsibilities you can expect:
- Inspect buildings
- Interprets regulations and codes to builders and property owners.
- Prepare and maintain records of plans, inspections, letters, and reports used in connection with building inspections.
- Review plans for code compliance.
- Conduct field inspections for code enforcement and city ordinances.
- Work closely with code enforcement staff.
You’ll make an impact if you have:
- Knowledge of building construction in all phases including structural, plumbing, mechanical, energy and electrical.
- Knowledge of various city ordinances, code requirements and zoning ordinances.
- Good written, oral, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering calculations and construction documents.

- Ability to use computer for a variety of plan review and permit record information and field reporting.
Minimum qualifications:
- 2 years of specialized training in building methods and practices related to commercial, industrial, and residential structures provided through technical college, professional workshops or university studies and 5 years of experience performing above or related duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s license.
- Must be an ICC Certified Inspector recognized four-way residential and commercial (building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) inspector, and must possess a state license for combination inspector.
Physical demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, crawl, climb stand, walk, talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or operate objects, controls, or tools.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds.

Position Overview:
As an established consulting engineering firm throughout the western US, Forsgren Associates is looking for energetic structural EITs to join our bridge design group. The EIT will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of structural engineering projects with a variety of highly qualified engineers.
